DIY Bench Tutorial woodworking projects
Looking to add some extra seating to your home without spending a lot of money? Try this simple DIY bench tutorial! This bench is easy to make and can be customized to fit any space.
Things you’ll need:
-1x 4x8ft piece of plywood
-Circular saw
-Ruler or tape measure
-High-grit sandpaper
-Stain or paint
-Paintbrush
-Clamps
-Screws
-Drill
-1 1/4″ inch screws
-Bench cushion (optional)
1. Cut the plywood
Using a circular saw, cut the plywood into two pieces – one that is 4ft long and one that is 2ft long.

2. Sand the edges
Use a high-grit sandpaper to smooth out the edges of the plywood.
3. Stain or paint the plywood
Stain or paint the plywood to your desired color.
4. Assemble the bench
Clamp the two pieces of plywood together and drill screws into the edges, making sure to countersink the screws so they are hidden.
5. Mount the bench
Use screws to attach the bench to the wall, making sure it is sturdy.
6. Add a cushion (optional)
If you’d like, add a cushion to the bench for extra comfort.
